- Darby Legacy Monument
Located in Cisterna Park on Garrison Avenue, the Darby Legacy Monument celebrates Fort Smith hero William Orlando Darby. Shortly before the end of the war in 1945, Colonel Darby was killed in action in Italy. He was posthumously promoted to brigadier general in recognition of his gallantry in combat.
