Zach Doell’s review of the EV9 on the U.S. News & World Report website gave the EV9 a rating of 8.6/10. This makes it the highest-rated electric SUV on the list of 2023 and 2024 models, as well as the second-highest-rated SUV with three rows.
“Some of the EV9’s strongest competition comes from within the Kia family,” says Doell. Doell explains that the EV6 and Telluride are also great options for those looking for a similar ride; however, the EV9 offers more seating than the EV6 and is more eco-friendly than the Telluride. He continues his review by praising its user-friendly infotainment system.
“This layout looks futuristic, but it’s refreshingly easy to use with simple menus, large icons and a configurable layout,” says Doell. “These backlit touchpoints look sleek and provide a haptic response (a subtle vibration) but require an unusually firm press.”
Doell also writes about the EV9’s driving dynamics, providing the best of both worlds with its suspension, damping the impact of bumps on the road for a comfortable drive.

Doug DeMuro
Doug DeMuro reviewed the EV9 on YouTube and liked the car’s interior. He talked about how premium the front row seats and dash look and feel.
“It looks great!” says DeMuro. “Everything is nice in this car—the seats with two-tone leather, gorgeous perforated leather in the center, and nice stitching. You can see everywhere in this interior: nice, well laid out, beautiful materials, and controls. It is an attractive place to be.”
DeMuro points out that the EV9 has fantastic second-row powered seats that recline and have pop-out leg rests.
“Back here, it is really nice,” says DeMuro. “You can stretch out and almost lie down in the back of your family SUV.” DeMuro states. He also points out how the third row of seats easily folds down by pulling a strap. For the second row, just press a button in the cargo area, which will fold down too. This makes packing up a breeze!
“It’s very competent,” says DeMuro. “Frankly, it’s a very impressive vehicle.”
