The compact Kia Sportage offers drivers a stylish SUV to drive with sporty driving manners and a long list of standard features. Which Sportage Should You Buy?

Kia offers the 2020 Sportage in four distinct trim levels. The entry-level model is the LX, which comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, a sporty rear spoiler, and LED daytime running lights. It also has power-adjustable side door mirrors and privacy glass. The new S model has dark chrome trim elements, fog lights, and 18-inch dark alloy wheels, and stepping up to the EX gets you upgraded 18-inch wheels, Kia’s smart power liftgate, a gloss-black grille, and solar glass.

The SX Turbo model has all the features of the EX and adds 19-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, and it also gets a sport-tuned suspension. It also gets dual exhaust, front and rear skid plates, metal door-scuff plates, LED fog lights, LED taillights, and bi-xenon headlights with dynamic bending light.

The Sportage Power

The LX, S, and the EX Sportage models have a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that develops 181 horsepower. Front-wheel drive comes standard in all models, but you can opt for an all-wheel drive system. You’ll get more power with the SX Turbo and its 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder engine that generates  240 horsepower with front-wheel drive or 237 horsepower with all-wheel drive.

The Technology

You can stay entertained and connected when driving the Sportage. It comes standard with Bluetooth for phone and audio, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and an 8-inch touch screen. The EX Technology Package adds wireless charging to the EX along with an 8-inch touch screen with navigation and satellite radio, and an 8-speaker Harmon Kardon stereo system. Kia’s UVO link is an available option and allows you to control some vehicle functions from your smartphone.

Stay Safe In the 2020 Sportage

The list of standard safety features in the 2020 Sportage includes a rearview camera, electronic stability control, hill-start assist, and downhill brake control. For 2020, all models also get forward collision mitigation, lane-keep assist, and a driver attention warning system. Some of the additional available safety features include blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert for the LX and above. You can also get high beam headlight assist, and a smart cruise control system with stop & go that will maintain a predetermined distance from the vehicle in front of you.
